Soak gelatine in cold water for 5 minutes. Heat cream, sugar and vanilla until just simmering.

Squeeze gelatine and stir into the warm cream until dissolved. Pour into moulds. Chill for 4 hours.

Simmer berries with sugar for 5 minutes until jammy. Cool. Turn out panna cottas and spoon compote over.
